The Balloon Shorts feature very simple construction, huge front pockets, and one back pocket that shares its seam with one of the front pockets. The waist band is elastic up top, with a waxed cord cinch fastener, and the bottom leg openings are tapered and left unfinished and lightly frayed. The fit is the defining characteristic of the shorts, as they are quite roomy (intentionally so). They're built larger than normal in the upper part of the short to create a more interesting and impressive silhouette. The material used is lightweight but durable, and has a very subtle black lined pattern across the entire short.
