Black Amber is serious business. It is the outright smokiest fragrance that we carry, actually smelling not too distant from a very luxurious campfire. There is a huge amount of incense at play through all stages of dry down, which along with the smoky amber note make up the bulk of the fragrances composition. Thornbush flower, red seaweed, davana, tobacco flower, and cypriol nagarmotha all provide a deep, dark floral touch, but absolutely not in the conventional white floral or rosy sense. These flowers are dirty, rich, and pungent, and are about as deep smelling as smokey incense if not a bit sweeter. Patchouli, spanish labdanum, and styrax further help give the hefty, resinous quality black amber exudes. Cedarwood is actually fairly prominent as a contrast to the head-first incense mardi gras going on in this perfume. The vanilla and sandalwood are fairly quiet relatively speaking, and in the dry-down, you mostly end up with the scent of smoky incense. If you like heavy, woody resinous / incense fragrances, there's not really any reason why this would not become you're new favorite. Black Amber knows what it is and it plays it part perfectly.
